This means anything that is current. Contemporary dance as started by Martha Graham in the early 20th century was a reaction to classical ballet's strict rules. She wanted dance to be more Her work started a dance revolution that is still evolving today. Based on contraction and release of the spine and core strength, this allows dancers the freedom of movement to achieve fall and recovery techniques, and add momentum.

Includes practitioners’ styles; Floor work; Contemporary Rolls, jumps & leaps & turns suited to all but especially the athletic dancer or gymnast.
