Tumbling is an important aspect of cheerleading, as well as a great asset to dancers of all genres, but particularly street, commercial and modern jazz genres.
The tumbling class offered at CCDA is focussed on gaining new skills, and has a progressive structure, from basic rolls right up top-level layouts, twists and of course aerials. Alongside this, acrobatic dance has gained in popularity over recent years, and so at CCDA we incorporate that element too, working on skills from cartwheels to walkovers and many variations of these. Children get really excited about these skills, and being able to put these in their choreography helps their self-confidence, strength, flexibility and their creativity.
