At CCDA we believe in encouraging performance to increase confidence, team work, self esteem, as well as technical and creative abilities. Therefore all pupils are given the opportunity to perform at CCDA…
The annual Summer Show is the highlight of our calendar and gives dancers a fantastic opportunity to perform in a professional theatre environment, with the disciplines of costuming, lighting, staging, rehearsals and a big enthusiastic audience.
The Annual Awards ceremony held in January, celebrates all the students have achieved in the past year. Highlights of the Summer Show, Dance Festival entries, Pantomimes and Summer Workshop are performed to family and friends, followed by the eagerly anticipated awards ceremony, recognising achievements in exams, festival competitions, performance, potential and the much much more. The ceremony culminates with the presentation of the highly regarded Dancer of the Year trophy!
We also offer the opportunity for pupils to perform in a wide variety of settings, CCDA is often invited to perform in local pantomimes, fashion shows and many charitable events.
Recent notable events include: – pop videos, the New Brewery Arts opening, Painswick Wearable Art Festival, the Royal International Air Tattoo Fairford, and Young Performers at Her Majesties theatre London.
The Summer Workshop week gives students the opportunity to broaden their dance learning, working with guest teachers, trying something new, learning new techniques and making new friends. With a performance to friends and family at the end of each day, it’s stunning to see how much can be achieved in just one day, or at the end of a week-long project – they certainly sleep well too!
The Summer Workshop week – Guest teachers, broaden the student’s experience, culminating in a performance to friends and family at the end of each day.
The Musical Theatre Boot Camp – Held in a theatre this give students the opportunity to home their skills during the week and perform to a live audience at the end of it.
