What is Tap Dance?
In the early 20th century in America this was a street dance but with noise from using the body as a percussive instrument. By true improvisation this expressing of rhythms developed with use of metal taps on shoes and intricate footwork. Today we mainly see this in musical theatre and from stars such as the Australian dancer (or hoofer as tappers are called,) Adam Garcia and company’s such as Tap Dogs. A great discipline to learn & fun to perform.
