Summer School and Workshops

The CCDA summer schools are open to everyone who enjoys dance and performance.
They are held during the school holidays at the end of July and beginning of August.

CCDA offers three separate summer school weeks:

1) Dance Boost (Ballet) – 21st & 22nd July 2022

Classes will focus on technique, strengthening, seniors pointe work.

Artistry & learning, Classical Repertoire.

A sharing of work with parents & friends at the end of each workshop.

Age Groups:
Seniors 14-18 years plus – 13:00 – 16:00
Inters 9-13 years – 9.30-12.30
Juniors 7 and under – 9.30-12.30
£30 per workshop or Both for £50

Week 1 – Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd July – Dance Boost (Ballet)

Week 2 – Monday July 25th – Friday 29th July – Musical Theatre Boot Camp Week & Juniors Under 7 Taster Workshop

Week 3 – Tuesday 23rd August – Friday 26th August – Skills Boost (All Genres)

Cheerleading Bootcamp Day – Saturday 27th August

2) Musical Theatre Boot Camp Week & Juniors Under 7 Taster Workshop – July 25th – July 29th

A mix of dance, drama and singing sessions leading to a performance at the sundial theatre Cirencester at the end of the week.

Ensemble 9.30am – 3:30pm
Soloists may be required 9.30am – 4:00pm
Age Groups:
Ensemble 7-18
Soloists 14 Plus

£150 for the week (deposit £75, balance due 7th June)

This is a challenging and fun week! Focusing on teaching musical theatre numbers involving singing, dancing and acting through song, and as well as script work. Open to all students between 6 – 18 years, learn excerpts from the three musicals below to a high standard ready to perform a mini version on July 30th on stage in the Sundial theatre at 2 pm.

Students will come away feeling fulfilled, inspired and empowered with the knowledge that they gain from the week, we look forward to leading them on this journey.

Optional Senior Audition workshop on Fosse technique used in the musical “Chicago” and Creative session on the musical “SIX” please ask for further details.

Wednesday 28th July: Under 6 workshops 10 am – 2.30 pm taster with performance on stage at 2.15 pm for parents – £20 (only 10 spaces available)

3) Skills Boost (All Genres) –  Tuesday 23rd August – Friday 26th August

Times: 9.30am – 4:00pm

Dance basement & gym studio Bingham Hall Cirencester ages – 7-21 years

Each day is a standalone workshop with different industry professionals and experienced teachers working on a variety of styles during the week. A sharing of work to parents and friends takes place at the end of each day at 3:45pm.

We have, Tap, Commercial dance, Jazz, Musical theatre dance, Contemporary, Choreography. Improvisation, Modern theatre dance, lyrical, street dance & ballet available.

Each day is £38 or complete week ( 4 days) can be booked in advance for £120

Wednesday 25th August under 6 tasters – 11 am – 3.30 pm taster with performance on stage at 3.45 pm for parents – £30 (only 10 spaces available)

Age Groups:
Seniors 14-18 years plus
Inters 9-13 years
Juniors 7 and under (half days only)

*Skills week does require some previous knowledge of dance.

Workshop Teachers Include:

Hannah Ponting – Musical Theatre CCDA & Urdang Dance School Graduate who is currently working in a musical -‘Merrily we roll along.’

Jasmine Kent  LIPA graduate and current professional dance in several companies will be teaching commercial dance and contemporary work.

Kristine Berget – LIPA graduate. A dance artist with several professional contemporary companies, she will be challenging us with her own contemporary style again this year.

Simon Hundley – from Jago stage school will be teaching contemporary.

James Gold – CCDA & Stella Mann graduate and head of dance at Ulstree TUC London will teach choreography and contemporary work.

Camilla-Alicia Bates – Bird College Graduate, a current cast member of the European tour of Mamma Mia, will be teaching musical theatre technique, commercial & contemporary fusion, plus jazz technique.

Miss Verity – CCDA Teacher & Reynolds vocational Stage school Graduate – acrobatic Dance.

NB – As guest lecturers are all current working professional performers we reserve the right should the need arise to change the advertised teachers.
